Connect Claude over MCP

embral ships a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so AI assistants can search and read your library.

Register a client

1. In Settings, open MCP.
2. Find your client’s card. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Codex each have one, showing the client’s install and connection state.
3. Click Register. For Claude Desktop, restart it afterward to pick up the connection.

For anything else, the Other clients card has a copyable configuration snippet.

What a connected client can do

Clients can list and search your meetings and dictations, read transcripts, summaries, and your notes, and pull the context around any search hit. Clients get read-only access: nothing they do can change or delete anything. It all works with embral closed, because the client launches embral’s small server program itself and reads the library directly.

Search matches keywords only until you download the semantic search model. The MCP settings page points you to it. With the model in place, clients search by meaning too, including text read out of images you pasted into notes.

Try it

Ask a question only your meetings can answer, like “what did the team decide about the launch date?” The answer should cite the meeting it came from.
