Turn on cloud processing
embral cloud is the paid tier. For what it changes and what leaves your machine, see Local and cloud processing.
- In Settings, open Account.
- Enter your email and click Send code. There’s no password. A six-digit code arrives by email.
- Enter the code. A first sign-in creates the account.
Subscribe from the same section, and checkout opens in your browser. Plans are on the pricing page.
Once the account has hours, embral switches transcription, summaries, and dictation cleanup to the cloud. Each is its own setting, so you can move any of them back to your device.
Watch your hours
Meetings and dictation spend from one shared pool. The ring at the bottom of the sidebar shows the remaining hours and when they reset.
When hours run out
The When cloud hours run out setting, one for meetings and one for dictation, decides the fallback:
- Switch to this device (the default) continues transcribing with the local model, mid-recording if needed.
- Disable transcription keeps recording without a transcript. A dictation fails with a message instead.
Extra hours cost 30¢ each, bought at least $3 at a time. They roll over, never expire, and outlive a lapsed subscription.
