Name speakers in a transcript

embral labels separated voices Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on. Naming them is yours to do. embral never guesses from the voice itself. See How speakers get their names.

During the meeting

Click a speaker’s pill in the live transcript header and type the name. The rename applies to everything that speaker said and keeps applying as they talk.

After the meeting

In the transcript tab, three tools:

  • Click the name on any turn to rename that speaker everywhere in the meeting.
  • Use the rename and merge chips at the top of the transcript to fix labels in bulk.
  • Right-click one sentence to reassign just that sentence to another speaker.

From your notes

If your notes contain lines like Ana: we need a new plan, embral compares them with the transcript and shows a suggestion banner reading “Speaker 1 looks like Ana (from your notes),” with Apply. Control this with the Name speakers from your notes setting, which offers Suggest (the default), Automatic, and Off.

Keep names tidy

Renaming to a new name creates a profile, and matching labels in other meetings link to it. If one person collects two profiles, select both on the Profiles page and merge them. Every meeting moves to the profile you keep.
