Turn on automatic recording
embral notices a call by watching which apps are using your microphone. These settings live in Settings, under Meetings.
- Choose how bold When a call is detected, auto-start should be.
- After asking (the default) shows a banner naming the app, offering Record or Dismiss. Dismissing keeps it quiet until that call ends.
- Always records any app that grabs the microphone.
- Selectively records only the checked meeting apps.
- Never turns detection off.
- Under Meeting apps, check what should count: dedicated apps like Zoom or Teams, and browsers for calls that run in a tab.
- Leave Detection delay at 3 seconds unless calls trigger too eagerly.
Stopping by itself
- Stop when the call ends defaults to stopping recordings that started automatically. Set it to All recordings or Never to taste.
- Ask after silence checks in when no speech has arrived for a while: a “Still recording?” banner with Keep recording and Stop recording. If unanswered decides what happens when you don’t respond.
Muting doesn’t end a call. Meeting apps hold the microphone through a mute, so a muted call keeps recording.
